On 4 November 2025, five dynamic Kosovar SMEs travelled to Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, to participate in Taiwan Select 2025, one of Asia’s most prominent international sourcing and industrial cooperation events. The participation of the Kosovar delegation was co-organized by Prishtina REA and the Enterprise Europe Network Kosovo, and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), which is Taiwan’s foremost non-profit trade-promotion organization jointly sponsored by the government and industry associations, dedicated to helping enterprises expand their global market presence.
Taiwan Select is widely recognized as a unique platform that blends business matchmaking with deep industrial insight. It goes beyond a traditional trade fair by offering participants an immersive experience into Taiwan’s globally respected manufacturing ecosystem. The event presents a diverse range of industries, including machinery and smart manufacturing, automotive parts, consumer goods and household items, fasteners, petrochemicals, green energy and environmental protection, shipbuilding, and smart mobility. Through this extensive industrial exposure, Kosovar companies gained valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies, advanced production capabilities, and promising avenues for cooperation.
The program at Taiwan Select 2025 was designed to maximize both knowledge transfer and business engagement. Participants had the opportunity to conduct focused one-on-one meetings with carefully selected Taiwanese manufacturers and suppliers whose interests aligned with their business needs. They also took part in exclusive industry visits and customized site tours, which offered firsthand exposure to Taiwan’s industrial excellence, high production standards, and innovation-driven manufacturing processes. These experiences enabled Kosovar SMEs to better understand market trends, identify competitive suppliers, and explore opportunities to strengthen their operations and export strategies.
The five companies representing Kosovo were BCG Group, MUQA Solar, Alliance International LLC, Furnico, and GET Group LLC. Each enterprise arrived with a clear set of objectives—ranging from sourcing new technologies and production inputs to establishing long-term business partnerships and evaluating future export potential. Their presence highlighted the increasingly outward-oriented approach of Kosovo’s private sector and its ambition to integrate into global value chains.
A key element of this success is the growing importance of Kosovar SMEs joining EEN Kosovo. Membership in the Enterprise Europe Network provides companies with access to an extensive international ecosystem that includes brokerage events, sector-specific matchmaking, market insights, technology cooperation opportunities, and advisory services on EU programs and global expansion strategies. For an emerging economy like Kosovo, participation in EEN Kosovo is not only beneficial but essential. It equips SMEs with the tools, visibility, and support needed to compete internationally.
By joining EEN Kosovo, SMEs significantly strengthen their international readiness. They gain access to qualified partners, global buyers, and cross-border collaboration networks that would otherwise remain difficult to reach. Many of the Kosovar companies attending Taiwan Select 2025 leveraged the EEN platform to prepare for the event, identify potential partners, and showcase their capabilities to a global audience. This demonstrates how EEN Kosovo serves as a strategic gateway for local companies seeking to expand their technological capacity, improve their competitiveness, and enter new markets.
Kosovo’s participation in Taiwan Select 2025 reflects the country’s growing commitment to global engagement and industrial advancement. By immersing themselves in one of Asia’s most innovative business environments, Kosovar SMEs expanded their international networks and laid the foundation for future cooperation. The support of EEN Kosovo and Prishtina REA continues to play a vital role in enabling Kosovar companies to connect with global partners, integrate new technologies, and build sustainable international relationships.
The knowledge gained, business opportunities identified, and partnerships initiated during Taiwan Select 2025 are expected to contribute to new collaborations, technology transfers, and market expansion. As Kosovo strengthens its position in global markets, platforms like Taiwan Select remain essential drivers of economic growth, innovation, and long-term competitiveness for the country’s private sector.
